" If there was no really need for change in the first place before 2015, Nigerians won't cry for it; worked for it and voted for it...And two years down the line, it is now obvious that some of us didn't really know the meaning of what we cried for; worked for and voted for. 'Change' means things must not continue to be done the usual way. 'Change' means those resources meant for the growth and development of Nigeria must be meant for the development and survival of Nigeria and must no longer be shared and looted as usual. 'Change' means the Nigerian government must now be encouraged to keep working for the people of Nigeria from the money of Nigeria more and better than they should be eating, wining and dinning from it as usual. 'Change' means playing politics with the resources of Nigeria must now continue to be replaced with good, responsible, effective and impactful governance. And realistically, therefore, what some of us asked Buhari and his vice to go and do in Aso Rock is all they have been doing, changing Nigeria; confronting the hydra headed menace of corruption; rebuilding the fiscal polity system to be more accountable and responsible as well as working more and more prolifically for the people of Nigeria. And so, two years down the line, I repeat, we cannot start crying again for another 'change' except we want to go back to that disappointing past, where we came from. Calling for change around this time is telling PDP to come back with that culture of executive recklessness; political brigandage; leadership crudity; impunity, misrule and looting without conscience. If, however, there must be a 'change', it must be after we have allowed this present governing order to complete the repairs of the damaged house or there is a better political order which can take over from this one, which I doubt if there is any yet. We must continue to trust this government enough to keep doing the right thing as it has been trying to do. Like in the words of Festus Keyamo, we gave PDP time to govern enough, we should also give this one time to deliver on its capacity, ability and vision for a new, healthy and working Nigeria, while we continue to keep that necessary vigilance and mount that salient pressure for the government to continue to do it right and well...
