GROUP WARNS SOUTH AFRICANS AGAINST INCESSANT KILLINGS OF NIGERIA

Barely a few days after the gruesome murder of a Nigerian by the police in South Africa,a call has gone to the authorities in the apartheid ravaged country to desist from the killings of people seeking greener pastures in their country especially Nigerians in order not to incur the wrath of the people of such countries,especially reprisal attack.

This warning was handed down on Saturday by the National president of Team Nigeria for change ,Chief Bestman Nze in a press release he signed while reacting to the recent killing of another Nigerian by the South African police,describing the incessant killings of Nigerians by the people and police in South Africa as condemnable,provocative and highly irresponsible stressing that the government should ensure the safety of the people that reside in the country .

According to Chief Bestman “the recent killing of another promising Nigerian by the South African police is condemnable ,provocative and highly irresponsible. As a people,we shall not fold our hands and allow the police in South Africa to be killing our people under any guise. While we shall not condone any criminal act,buy we won’t succumb to indiscriminate killings over flimsy excuses.”

“We see this recent killing as another provocative act and a reprisal against south Africans anywhere especially in Nigeria will spell doom for the people. It’s on this note that we appeal to President Jacob Zuma to instantly call the police to order and those fingered in the recent killing be apprehended and brought to book so as to serve as deterrent to other trigger happy police men and officers.”the group stressed.

The group equally called on the Nigerian community in South Africa as well as the Ambassador of Nigeria to the country to see to the root of the matter and display the country’s displeasure over the killings and that if not nipped in the bud,a reprisal may not be ruled out in Nigeria.
