The Ondo State Police Command on Monday stated that it was still on the search for the abducted monarch of Iyani Akoko in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Joe Daudu.

Oba Daudu was kidnapped by some unknown gunmen on Saturday evening on Ikare-Owo Expressway, Oba Akoko area while traveling back home.
The police said it had no idea of where the monarch was taken to and as at the press time the monarch was still at the kidnappers’ den.
The abductors have reportedly contacted the family, demanding for a sum of N15million ransom but it was gathered that the ransom had not been paid as of the time of this report.
The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Mr. Femi Joseph said the command was making frantic efforts to ensuring that the abducted monarch was released unhurt.
He however refused to explain the extent at which the command had gone to rescue the victim from the kidnappers’ den.
He said, “We are yet to secure the release the monarch, but we are closing on the abductors, you know we can not disclosed our strategy but we are making effort to secure his release.
“Our men are already on the trail of the kidnappers and very soon they will all be apprehended.”
