In recent times the rate of criminal activities; kidnappings, armed robbery and cultism have increased in Osogbo, Osun State, which put a question mark on the status of the once peaceful city.
Here's how a source reported the story:
"Some days ago, my younger brother called to warn me, around 7:30pm to get in early as cultists/thugs had taken over Owode and Egbatedo areas of the city shooting sporadically.
Yesterday, Sunday 18th December, my mum also came in to narrate her ordeal at Ita Olokan/Oja Oba axis with the same set of people on rampage. This was around 4 - 4:30pm.
According to a source who saw what happened, more than 3 people were killed and a house burnt down in the community.
It is believed that rival cult groups were involve in this ugly incident. We implore the state government to do something as soon as possible about this.
