From her infamous egg arrival at the Grammys to her VMA meat dress and her much-buzzed-about lobster hat,
Lady Gaga has certainly had her fair share of memorable costumes over the years.
But her "airy" ensemble at her release party for her latest album, "Artpop," over the weekend has to take the cake.
The 27-year-old debuted the world's "first flying dress," which she dubbed "Volantis," and yep, it's as crazy as it sounds!
The high-tech, battery-powered contraption — designed by Nancy Tilbury
and controlled by a technician — lifted her up about 70 inches, without
any tether to the ground, inside a huge building at the Brooklyn Navy
Yard.
After her adventure, the singer addressed the crowd, explaining that
her elaborate new digs are made out of six booms in a hex formation,
contain multiple motors, and essentially work as a vehicle ... which
Gaga referred to as “essentially a metaphor for me. I will be a vehicle
today for their voices.”
There's no question, her wardrobe is reaching new heights!
Not only did Gaga don a dress that took her up in the air, but she's also planning on traveling to space.
The singer confirmed she'll be the first recording artist to sing in
space in 2015 as part of the Zero G Colony music festival, trading her
little monsters for, err, aliens?
